National and international library networks

The Cooperative Library Network Berlin-Brandenburg (KOBV) is a consortium of libraries in Berlin and Brandenburg. The KOBV operates a regional web portal providing access to information resources and services of all participating libraries.

The Common Union Catalogue is the catalog of the Common Library Network (GBV) and the Library Network Southwest Germany (SWB) with the holdings of GVB libraries and SWB libraries. The periodicals of all subito-supplying libraries and other university libraries from Germany are also integrated.
The Common Union Catalogue (GVK) covers the holdings of over 65 million records of books, conference proceedings, periodicals, dissertations, microfilms and electronic resources of more than 1,000 member libraries GBV and the SWB.
Access is free of charge.

The Bavarian Library Network (BVB) is the regional association of more than 150 libraries of various sizes and orientations specialist in Bavaria.

The group includes the Bavarian State Library, the university and college libraries, the regional state libraries and a number of other major libraries.

The Southwest German Library Network (SWB) includes 1.200 participant libraries from all over the world.  Historically, we find the majority of libraries in Baden-Württemberg, Saarland and Saxony. The database of the Southwest German Library Network is operated by the BSZ (library service center region of Baden-Württemberg).

Union catalog of the academic libraries of North Rhine-Westphalia and a large part of Rhineland-Palatinate.

The Hessian Library and Information System (HeBIS) is the electronic information and service network of academic libraries in parts of Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate. The spectrum of the participating institutions is diverse: university and college libraries, institutes and special libraries, county and city libraries have joined HeBIS.

The HeBIS database (including retro database) currently shows a total of over 62 million title and standard data sets, of which approx. 10 million titles of all forms of publication with over 29 million Inventory records from a total of 519 libraries of all sizes in the region.
