Access to online ressources with OpenVPN
To access online resources that do not work via institutional login (see Shibboleth), it is important to use OpenVPN! Install the VPN using these instructions.
You can get an overview which services are accessible via OpenVPN in the detailed descriptions of the databases on DBIS (database information system). In DBIS, the method you can use to access the database from home is described directly at the selected database.
Exceptions with Horizon Client
We still have a few exceptions that are not accessible exclusively via OpenVPN. These include, for example, logging into WGSN, a database for fashion.
In order to access it from home without a previously created account at the university, it is also necessary to use the VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) Horizon Client software as an exception. This activates a virtual desktop at the university and provides access to all library resources.
Attention:
The Horizon Client with the selected pool (library terminal or any other pool of your department) must be used together with OpenVPN.

Important:
After logging off, the desktop will be discarded and all unsaved data will be lost! Save your data to your home drive!
