Results of the Library User Survey

Results of the Library User Survey

In the digital age, we are constantly looking for new ways to engage with our community and communicate relevant information as effectively as possible. In May 2026, the University Library took this as an opportunity to conduct a survey focusing on social media. We wanted to hear directly from you about your wishes and expectations regarding our library’s social media presence. All students at HTW Berlin were invited to share their opinions and suggestions via the evasys survey tool. A total of 353 students took part in the survey, providing us with valuable insights and inspiration for the future design of our social media presence.

The results (excluding free-text comments) are available for download below.

The most popular option – and one that came as a clear surprise to us – was direct email communication, which 228 respondents preferred. The HTW newsletter is also valued as an information channel, alongside well-known social media platforms and the library’s website as sources of information. These results make it clear that we will continue to focus on direct communication. On interactive and visual platforms such as Instagram, there was a clear desire for more information on training courses and events, as well as research tips and a varied range of information without too much interaction.

We will analyse the results in more detail and will post further information here shortly regarding exactly how we can best accommodate and address these requests.

In light of this, we would also like to take this opportunity to remind you of the library’s existing Moodle course: Moodle course You can already ask questions to the library in the forum here, and all digital workshops take place here.
