What is the Open Access self-learning course?

The Open Access self-learning course is an interactive online course for independent learning of the most important facts about Open Access. By using various media and exercises to review the learning content, it enables participants to deal with the subject flexibly, selectively and at their own pace. The course also serves as a place where questions can be asked or information can be exchanged with other people interested in Open Access.

The course is divided into seven chapters:

Technical information on using the self-learning course

  • If you click on the individual tiles, the content of the respective section will open. The outline is displayed in each tile, with links to the chapters it contains.
  • It is recommended that you read the interactive chapters in full-screen mode by clicking on the icon in the bottom right-hand corner.
  • There are interactive exercises at the end of the chapters to check the knowledge acquired (these are only for self-assessment and not for our verification).
  • To complete a chapter, it is necessary to view all slides of the different presentations.
  • It is at any time possible to move from one chapter to the next by either going back or moving on to the next presentation.
  • By completing all chapters and the exercises contained therein, the required points are collected to receive the Open Access Meister*in badge.
