Project Deep Green

Promoting the Green Path in Open Access

As the operator of the institutional repository OPUS, the University Library of HTW Berlin participates in the extended test phase of the DFG project DeepGreen since 2020.

The aim of the DeepGreen project is to make scientific publications automatically available via Open Access after the embargo periods have expired.

A "data hub" developed as part of the project delivers full texts and metadata of articles written by HTW members in journals published by participating organisations (currently S. Karger, SAGE, MDPI, Frontiers and DeGruyter) directly to the university publication server OPUS of HTW Berlin.

The articles are made publicly accessible worldwide as a secondary publication through the Green Path of Open Access. There is no additional work involved for HTW authors. After a review of the data by the university library, they are informed about the publication.
